The following checklist was designed for you to have a more thorough understanding of your choices for refractive surgery. We at the San Diego LASIK Institute are confident in your decision to have LASIK performed here as we are dedicated to your complete ocular health. At the San Diego LASIK Institute, we strive to give you the best and most complete evaluation of your eyes before undergoing LASIK surgery. In order to do that, you will undergo numerous tests to determine if you are a good candidate:

ü Medical Doctor Measurements: It is important to determine who does your measurements (refraction) for surgery. Is it your eye surgeon? Dr. Pham personally measures all of your measurements. He triple checks all measurements before surgery. His philosophy is to treat you the exact same way he would like to be treated.

ü Corneal thickness with ultrasonic equipment: While the different techniques can be used to measure the thickness of the cornea, we have determined that ultrasonic measurements are important to obtain a true measure of the corneal thickness. The cornea's thickness is one of the parts of your examination that determines your eligibility for LASIK surgery.

ü Dilated fundus examination: Structures inside the eye are important to the long-lasting effects of LASIK surgery. Retinal changes usually have to be treated prior to undergoing LASIK surgery.

In addition to the complete ocular examination, we want you to understand what is included in the coverage at the San Diego Lasik Institute.

ü Follow-up examinations

ü Enhancements for a full year following the initial LASIK surgery at no additional charge depending on the plan.
