How do you determine the price? What is included in the price?

The main thing that determines the cost of LASIK in San Diego is the kind of advanced technology used as well as the surgeon's expertise. In order to get the best results, we will never compromise on the technology that we employ. We continually price shop the competition to make sure our prices are competitive. Sometimes you may see a marketing gimmick for super low-priced LASIK. These practices often have tiered pricing schemes in which the price of the procedure quickly increases. . Every time we use our VISX and Intralase lasers we are charged royalty fees by the laser manufacturers. Also, there is a non financing discount.

The cost of glasses and contacts may range from $10,000 - $16,000 over 10-20 years. When you consider the costs of eye examinations, frames, contact lenses, solutions, and the time to maintain glasses and contacts, LASIK eye surgery may be a good alternative financially.

Does insurance pay for LASIK surgery?

The one type of health care insurance that may cover this is your flexible spending account. Unfortunately, LASIK surgery is an elective procedure and is not usually covered by insurance. Some insurance plans rarely offer some coverage. We would be happy to check your insurance plan for you. VSP may offer partial payments for some of your procedure. We would be happy to check your VSP vision account for its laser vision correction benefits.

What are flexible spending accounts?

A flexible spending account (FSA) and a flex plan (FP) may be used to pay for your LASIK procedure. This is extremely popular and effective way to pay for your LASIK procedure. Both the FP and FSA plan allows you to have flexibility in your health care choices. Either directly or through your employer, you can make pretax contributions to your plan to spend for LASIK in San Diego. These contributions are taken directly from your paycheck prior to tax deductions. FP and FSA plans are tax sheltered. However, if you do not use your FP and FSA plans you will lose them.
